MORANBAH HALLOWEEN EVENT

- Wednesday, November 05, 2014

On October 31, 2014, Moranbah and District Support Services (MDSS), the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) Settlement Program and Simply Sunshine Childcare hosted a ‘Moranbah Halloween Event’ in the Moranbah Town Square.  This outstanding event supported National Child Protection and Disability Awareness.  The hosting of the Moranbah Halloween Event involved the participation of community residents, local businesses, BMA, Isaac Regional Council, MDSS, Simply Sunshine and Sodexo.

The event was blessed with great weather and a large number of families that attended, enjoying all the fun the evening had to offer.  The Moranbah Halloween Event started at 3:30 p.m. with a sausage sizzle, drinks, fairy floss, popcorn, rides, jumping castles, magic shows, the balloon man, side show alley, a Halloween Costume Contest and a visit from Peppa Pig.  The fun filled event ended with the movie ‘Epic.’

Glen Alsemgeest, Manager Overburden from Goonyella Riverside Mine, was at the movie night.  “It was great to see so many people attend and get into the spirit by coming in costume.  BMA’s partnership with MDSS is all about bringing people together in the community and the Halloween Movie Night was a really fun way to do just that.”

Moranbah and District Support Services, the BMA Settlement Program and Simply Sunshine Childcare would like to acknowledge and thank their major sponsors BMA, Isaac Regional Council, Sodexo, Department of Communities, Moranbah Rotary Club, Regional Messenger, Jumpin Jaks, Kerri Williams and Master of Ceremony, Fiona Branch for their generous contributions to make this event a reality.
