20 - 27 September 2016 - Moranbah, Queensland
The September school holidays were jam packed in Moranbah with exciting events for students and their younger siblings taking place across town.
Hosted by Moranbah and District Support and the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) Connecting Communities Program in partnership with local businesses and organisations, local youth aged 2 to 17 years participated in a Day at the Cinema, Tie Dye Adventure, Water Sports at the Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre, and a Friday fair and movie night to celebrate Child Protection Week. Each of the events was designed to get local youth active and associating with others of a similar age.
Liz Binnekamp, Moranbah Community Resident, attended the School Holiday Program. “Moranbah and District Support Services and the Connecting Communities Program have done a wonderful job of organising fun activity ides for kids to do in the school holidays. My girls love the Day at the Cinema and the Tie Dye Adventure. Please continue providing these school holiday programs.”
Matthew and Janelle Vitale, of the Janelle Vitale Swim School stated, “It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the facility and see the community come together, while enjoying the pool through the Water Sports event. We are excited to see so many community residents take part in this fantastic program.”
Moranbah and District Support Services and the Connecting Communities Program would like to acknowledge and thank the Isaac Regional Council, BMA, AH Realty and the Janelle Vitale Swim School for their generous contributions to making this event a reality.
