Moranbah Community Health Centre

The Moranbah Community Health Centre provides a range of services that include:

Community and Child Health Nurse offers well baby clinics including immunizations, school health screenings, high school vaccinations, development assessments, hearing screenings, medical aids subsidy scheme and wound care.  The Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) is also available.

Occupational Therapist assists people with improving or maintaining their skills to be able to live a meaningful independent life.  The Occupational Therapist can provide services for hand and upper limb therapy, equipment prescription, and home modifications.  Pediatric services are provided in collaboration with existing Mackay Pediatric Services.

School Based Youth Health Nurse is a registered nurse that attends the State High Schools to assist young people in making a safe transition into adulthood through a Health Promoting Schools approach.  Provides service to Moranbah and Glenden State High Schools.

Social Worker provides professional generic counseling services to individuals, youth and families with problems related to physical and/or emotional wellness.  Includes assistance/support with relationships, self esteem, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, parenting, basic budgeting, sexual assault, abuse, anger issues, grief and loss, stress, lifestyle adjustments and other issues.

Speech Pathologist assists all children under school age (Prep), and all adults, are eligible to access the Speech pathology service.  This service assists people with speech, language, voice fluency, hearing and pragmatic (manners of communication) difficulties.  Feeding and swallowing difficulties can also be addressed.  The Hanen “It Takes Two to Talk” parent program is also available.  The Speech Pathologist is a district worker and provides a service to Moranbah, Dysart, Middlemount, Glenden, Nebo and Clermont.
