Moranbah and District Support Service

Moranbah and District Support Services (MDSS) is a small not for profit organisation that is funded through the Department of Communities, Domestic Violence Resource Services and the Child Safety and Disability Services which serve the communities of Moranbah, Dysart, Clermont, Coppabella, Middlemount, Nebo and Glenden. MDSS services are provided by professional staff and volunteers. Our professional staff consists of a Neighbourhood Centre Program Worker, a Domestic Violence Support Counsellor and a team of Rural Family Support Workers, which are overseen and supported by a Voluntary Management Committee. We strive to support and assist all individuals, families, groups and organisations who seek assistance through the rural family support service or community support service.

Management Committee

Moranbah and District Support Services (MDSS) is managed by a Voluntary Management Committee to ensure that community needs are met.  The primary role of the MDSS Management Committee is to provide guidance, identify, support and oversee effective governance of the organisation.  The committee ensures that approved projects, programs and resources align with the organisation’s objectives and provide appropriate due diligence.

Help Local Moranbah Students be Prepared for School!

MDSS is proud to assist disadvantaged students (subject to conditions of eligibility) in Moranbah be prepared for school. We rely on donations from the community to provide stationery and uniforms to our local students. Currently we are collecting bottles and cans under the Containers for Change program as even 10 cents can make a difference in helping our community. If you would like to support us, please use the code C10188431 next time you donate your cans and bottles. If you are local like us, please drop your bags of containers to the collection point at the Moranbah League Club on Mills Avenue. We also accept donations of schoolbooks and stationery that we also provide to disadvantaged students so they can participate in their classes. Send a message or drop in any donations to the Moranbah Youth and Community Centre at 2 Appleton St, Moranbah.
